2012 Quilt Camp at Sea Collector's Cruise - Join us as we celebrate our 20th quilting cruise sailing!!

21 day cruise sailing roundtrip from San Diego, California from March 10 to March 31, 2012 that will combine both the Mexican Riviera and Hawaii cruise sailing itineraries with special discounts and amenities

Featuring special guests – Jody Houghton (www.jodyhoughton.com) and Judith Baker Montano (www.judithbakermontano.com), and quilting classes during the cruise with Patti Carey, Lori Hein, Anita Mahoney, Stacy Michell, Judith Baker Montano, Dodi Poulsen, Fara Wilson, and Jackie Wolff!!

Patti Carey	*Mexican Mystery:* The quilt for this class will remain a mystery to be revealed during our cruise to Mexico!! During class, Patti’s techniques will take the mystery out of techniques to create a project that is pure magic! All the fabrics in the project will be pre-cut and ready for you to start right into sewing!!
Patti Carey	*Simplified Double Wedding Ring:* Using a simplified double wedding ring pattern she has designed, Patti guides the class through the piecing of an updated version of this classic quilt. Participants will conquer their fear of curved piecing. We will talk about various fabric options and also discuss the "ins and outs" of binding double wedding ring quilts. Kits are pre-cut and ready to sew and will include a personally autographed copy of Patti’s book! (Note: Class project will have different fabrics than sample shown.)
Lori Hein	*La Fiesta:* Join Lori in making this "La Fiesta" table topper that combines a festive Mexican print with pieced ocean waves and 4 photos of the different ports we will visit on the cruise. The center triangles are little pockets that you can tuck messages in from the new friends you meet. It is finished off with your choice of multi-colored prairie points to add some flair or regular binding for a more conservative look.
Lori Hein	*Memories of Mexico!* Lori has recreated her very popular memory quilt design from previous Quilt Camp at Sea cruises for this cruise. Machine piecing will make this an easy quilt to complete and embellishing techniques will make it exclusively YOURS for a last memento of your cruise!
Anita Mahoney	*Shop ‘til You Drop (Reversible Tote Bag):* Join Anita in making this quick, simple, and FUN to create reversible bag with lots of room and pockets for your outings – both on the cruise and after you return home. To make the bag even more fun, you can add flip flops, martinis, and BLING with embellishments included in your pre-cut kit!
Judith Baker Montano	*Seascape* Create a one-of-a-kind art piece that can be hung with pride in your home. Judith will demonstrate how she creates her “crazy quilt” landscape art and teach you to think like a painter while creating your special memento of the cruise that she has designed exclusively for this cruise using fabrics, threads, ribbons and yarns.
Judith Baker Montano	*Crazy Quilting* Create beautiful crazy quilting using a sewing machine for the base work as Judith guides you through the various steps of making this project she has designed exclusively for this cruise including embroidery and embellishing techniques as your special memento of your cruise!
Jackie Wolff	*Girlfriends Boutique:* What better way for "Girls to have fun" than to go shopping? In keeping with the theme of this cruise, you will create your own “Girlfriends Boutique” wall hanging, complete with flip flops, purses, sunglasses, and margarita glasses……join Jackie in making this fun, fast, and fusible hand appliquéd project as a memento of your cruise!
Fara Wilson	*English Paper-Pieced Fabric Bowls:* A 1 session (3 hour) class plus High Tea!! Prepare to have fun learning how to English Paper-Piece and creating three- to six-sided bowls and gift boxes that are perfect for holding wrapped candies, small gifts, or as a base for petite gift baskets. Sewn by hand, this project is very portable and can be done quickly when using those frequent spare minutes of time between classes - anytime you have a few minutes, you can pick up your project and continue working on it.
Fara Wilson	*English Garden Table Runner* *(English Paper-Pieces Technique):* A 2-session (6 hour total) class plus High Tea!! Using the English Paper-Pieces technique, this class includes a special high tea (an English tradition) during the afternoon of March 14!! This table runner project uses the most popular hexagon shape to create flowers, as well as other shapes for leaves and hearts. Sewn by hand, this project is very portable and can be done quickly when using those frequent spare minutes of time between classes - anytime you have a few minutes, you can pick up your project and continue working on it.
Staff	Make It and Take It projects; two different projects are included for all quilters on this cruise and class kits are included at no charge. Classes will be taught by Janet Bottroff and Anita Mahoney!!

Instructor	Class Description
Stacy Michell	*Hawaiian Hula Lesson* In the first part of the class, featuring an exclusive design that is already die cut, you will use a unique fabric hand dyed by Stacy, called “A Hand Dyed Hula-Hoop” that radiates color and you will learn how to fuse and cut the remaining Hawaiian appliqué blocks for your project, using Stacy’s “2 for 1 technique”. During the second part of the class, Stacy will cover some great machine appliqué methods and tricks. By the end of this class, you will be so inspired by the project, Stacy bets you will do a Hula dance about it (the reason the class is named "Hawaiian Hula Lesson"!).
Judith Baker Montano	*Crazy Quilting* Create beautiful crazy quilting using a sewing machine for the base work as Judith guides you through the various steps of making this project she has geared towards a Hawaiian theme that will include embroidery and embellishing techniques as your special memento of your cruise!
Judith Baker Montano	*Seascape* Create a one-of-a-kind art piece that can be hung with pride in your home. Dodi Poulsen	*Mystery In Paradise* Can you hear the tropical winds calling you? Well known for her ability to turn a mystery into a themed event, Dodi will help you explore new ideas and techniques while creating this wall sized quilt using gorgeous fabrics in lush splashes of color that will become one of your favorite mementos of this exciting cruise! Don’t be left on the island wishing you had selected this class!!
Jackie Wolff	*Aloha Bouquet* This easy and beautiful buttonhole stitch appliqué bouquet will feature flowers reminiscent of your visit to Hawaii and you will return home with the perfect wall hanging to welcome Spring!
Jackie Wolff	*Footloose and Fancy Free* A “typically Jackie” whimsical wall hanging featuring buttonhole stitching and (naturally) fun embellishment as only Jackie could demonstrate for this project that is sure to be a great reminder of the fun you had on the cruise and in the class!
